A Pop Up Event
There are many names for the full moon that rises after the autumn equinox.
The Hunters Moon – aptly named as the signalling of time to go hunting and prepare for the winter ahead
Falling Leaves Moon – an Anishinaabe term that showcases the transition of summer to fall
Freezing Moon – an Ojibwe reference to the falling temperatures
My personal favourite though is The Migrating Moon. A Cree original, referring to the moment in time when birds begin to fly south. I can hear the Canadian Geese crying out from above as I write.
To celebrate and welcome in this beautiful change of colours, I am inviting you all to an evening filled with a wild array of finger foods and appetizers, bonfires & live music by local musician Cristian Quirivan. Lets usher in this new season with warmth & community, and fill our bellies with fall’s bounty. As always, local ingredients, sustainably sourced.
Located at Avalon Gardens, at 119 Russia Road, Black Rock, NS. An evening at the Purple Castle is what we all need to warm the cockles of one’s heart.
